A1 Motorcycle Course

From the age of 17 (minimum age) you have the option of obtaining a full motorcycle licence.  To obtain a full motorcycle licence you will need to have a provisional motorcycle licence (category A), a valid CBT certificate (see courses/16) and a valid motorcycle theory test (see training resources).
Each full licence motorcycle course will involve a number of training days relating to your ability followed by two practical tests with the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
All our courses are run with a maximum of 2 students to 1 instructor, this ensures that you receive the highest standard of training possible, which maximises your time on the bike and your test result !

A1 - Light Motorcycle Licence

This course is completed on a 120-125cc machine (we use Yamaha Ybr 125cc machines for this) and leads to an A1 Light Motorcycle Licence.  You are restricted to riding a machine no greater than 125cc with a maximum power of 14.6bhp but you do not need to display L plates and you can carry a passenger.
The practical test is in two parts, module one (£15.50) and module two (£75.00).  The module one test involves candidates being asked by the examiner to demonstrate their riding ability on either the left-hand or right-hand circuit.  Module 2 of the test will be about 57 minutes in length and will consist of the eyesight test, road safety questions and at least 35 minutes of road riding consisting of a road ride covering a variety of road and traffic conditions and will also include normal stops, hill and angle starts.
