A2 Motorcycle Course

A2 - Standard Motorcycle Licence

To obtain a full motorcycle licence you will need to have a provisional motorcycle licence (category A), a valid CBT certificate (see courses - 16 Years) and a valid motorcycle theory test (see training resources).

This course is completed on a machine of at least 395cc (we have a fleet of the latest (2016) Kawasaki Er6's for this) and leads to an A2 Standard Motorcycle Licence. When you have passed the A2 licence you can ride a machine that produces no more than 35Kw or 47bhp.

Note - The maximum power to weight ratio cannot be more than 0.2Kwh per Kg, as well as any bike that delivers more than 70Kw or 94bhp "from the factory" CANNOT be restricted to 35Kw or 47bhp.

Each full licence motorcycle course will involve a number of training days relating to your ability followed by two practical tests with the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

All our courses are run with a maximum of 2 students to 1 instructor, this ensures that you receive the highest standard of training possible, which maximises your time on the bike and your test result !

The practical test is in two parts, module one (£15.50) and module two (£75.00).  The module one test involves candidates being asked by the examiner to demonstrate their riding ability on either the left-hand or right-hand circuit.  Module 2 of the test will be about 57 minutes in length and will consist of the eyesight test, road safety questions and at least 35 minutes of road riding consisting of a road ride covering a variety of road and traffic conditions and will also include normal stops, hill and angle starts.
